Following a large investment, a growing SaaS provider was undergoing a broad technical modernization effort spanning AI adoption, data architecture, and app scalability. As part of that, the company needed to make a critical senior-level AI/ML engineering hire capable of building and deploying production-grade ML solutions within a modern cloud environment.

The internal team had no shortage of applicants, but after reviewing a high volume of resumes and conducting numerous interviews, internal TA and stakeholders were repeatedly encountering candidates who lacked the required production engineering depth or overstated their technical capabilities. Severe interview fatigue resulted, while the role remained unfilled.

Sigil worked with the client to narrow the search around the most critical specs: production ML engineering, Python, cloud-native architecture, MLOps , enterprise data, and the ability to translate AI concepts into reliable SaaS product functionality.

Each presentation was evaluated not only for technical fit, but also for demonstrated experience building and operating AI/ML systems in real production environments, as well as culture fit considerations within the high-growth environment.

After a highly targeted search and a limited number of candidate presentations, Sigil delivered a Senior AI/ML Engineer who met the client’s technical and operational requirements and was ultimately selected for the role.

The hire added critical internal capability across machine learning, MLOps, and production AI engineering at a time when those competencies were becoming central to the company’s product roadmap.
